Daughter’s Quilt

Making a quilt for a precious person that you love, is one of the best things in life!  Giving that quilt to the person is even better!  Recently, I took time out to make a beautiful, yet simple, quilt for my daughter.  She loved the Timeless Treasures, Tonga Treats Bouquet 6 inch strips collection.  She wanted a simple 6 inch striped quilt with no fancy cutting or piecing.  She just wanted stripes with a border.  So, I created a quilt with stripes and a mitered border.  Then, she said some of the best words to me…quilt how you would like to quilt it.

Really??? I love that!  I thought of my daughter and all the things she loves.  She loves swimming, books, teddy bears, dolls, music, Jesus, and ice cream cones!  I added things such as a string of pearls in the design, because every girls should have a nice string of pearls. I quilted flowers cascading over the quilt, because every girl should have flowers.  I wanted this quilt to be one that she used throughout her years.

On the back of the quilt, I used Michael Millers Fairy Frost fabric, which is sparkle-ly.  (That was a main requirement.) She loves it!

I loved quilting this quilt, because I was able to bring the beautiful character of my daughter to the quilt! I hope that she gets many years of use from the quilt.
